Operations March 2024

Store Notes

  • As the weather begins to warm up, March has typically been a busier month with Spring Break and families wanting to bust of the cabin fever brought on during the Winter months.  Taking note of those Spring Break dates for your city will allow you to better plan for when not only bookings should increase, but also allow for planning as your team increases request offs.  If you haven’t already, research when these dates occur and add them your calendar or 7Shifts as a reminder and plan accordingly.
  • It is never too early to begin planning for the Spring and Summer.  Take some time to speak your team about what their plans are for the upcoming months so you know what staffing will look like at your location.  If we are proactive about staffing rather then reactive to being understaffed, it ensures we will be able to operate at full capacity at all times.  And with a full staff, it leads to generally better team morale from the reduced stress of having to shuffle to cover gaps.  If you do need help with any job posts, be sure to reach out to me or Jackie, especially if you need a job post boosted on CareerPlug.
  • Breakout price increases take effect on Monday 3/4.  You all have already received the email with the list of changes for your location.  Be sure to update and print any pricing forms in store that your team uses.  Review the Pricing Update FAQ form for further information.  If there are any other questions, please reach out to me.

Labor

  • Labor is one of the largest expenditures for any business.  One part of understanding your labor is being able to recognize scheduling and staffing trends.  Take the time each shift to fill out your labor sheets appropriately with Lobby, ASM, Game Master, and Training hours (if applicable).  These are reviewed often and putting in any notes is appreciated as it allows more clarity of understanding your location.  Be sure to use the Notes section for highlighting any item that would effect business that day.  This includes noting K2 install dates, time off, Spring Break, etc.  The more information, the better as it can only help shape scheduling moving forward.

Updating Resova for Easter

  • Sunday 3/31 is Easter.  We will be closed this day and need to mark that as a closed holiday.  Please take a moment to update Resova to reflect this date for online bookings.  If you do not know how to do this, please reach out to me and I will walk you through the process.  If anyone has bookings on that day, go ahead and reach out to the group to let them know and reschedule.
