Group Sales Target: Molly’s Tips for How to Target School Boards & PTAs

  • Visit the school district’s website (find on Google) to find contact information for the Board / District Leaders. Usually they have their own page with contact information. If not, check for a staff directory.
  • Look for Communications or Community Outreach position- often they will help send emails or distribute fliers to the entire school district. “If we create a partnership code for your employees, would you share?”
  • Find out if your school district has a “council of PTAs”. Some areas have a centralized PTA that you can contact to get in touch with the PTAs at every school.
  • Does the PTA have sponsorship packages that offer advertisement? We can trade gift cards as an in kind donation in exchange for sponsorship (eg. logo on a banner, link on website, etc). 
  • PTA’s are always looking to fundraise! We can host fundraisers Monday-Thursday at Activate, where 50% of sales is donated back to the group. If you have a PTA ready to set up a fundraiser, reach out to Molly to get their promo code set up.
 

Group Sales Focus: How to Host a Successful Field Trip

  • Make sure to have frequent communication with the organizer to work out details, changes, and special accommodations ahead of time.
  • Offer the digital field trip flier to anyone who needs to get approval for a field trip. It not only lists our packages for schools but also references the specific curriculum standards that Activate fulfills!
  • Make sure to be specific about how and when they will pay for the event.
  • Learn the terminology and processes for W-9s, tax exempt forms, & purchase orders.
  • Have a checklist or a template of instructions to send them to help them be ready on game day.
  • Make sure to check in with the organizer the week of the event & the day before.
  • Be ready on game day – staffed, clean, and early.
  • Plan for a hiccup and communicate your plan to your staff.
  • Offer the Group Waivers option.

Qualification Must book 3 events to qualify

Prizes Book 3 events: $100 Book 4-7 events: $250 Book 8+ events: $500
