Group Sales Questions Answered: How do I know the Ideal Number of GSCs that I should have trained for my location?
- Now is the time to start thinking about the holidays and how many GSCs you will need to get trained to help with the influx of group bookings & Zendesk tickets.
- A simple way to determine your needs during the regular year is to calculate your average group sales and (in addition to the manager) have one trained GSC for every $5,000 in Group Sales for Activate. For the holidays, let’s add one to that number to make sure we are covered.
- Example: During the regular year, if your average group sales is $15,000 per period, ideally you will have the manager + 3 trained GSCs. Like I said, don’t be afraid to add one or two extra to that number to be ready for the busy season.
- We want to have at least one GSC per shift scheduled for the peak times during the holidays.
- If you don’t know your average sales or you are a new store, please DM me & I can share my recommendations with you.
- When you are considering your ideal number of GSCs, take into account that for your store’s program to work effectively & efficiently you need to have excellent communication amongst the team and you need to have clear expectations for each GSC.
- Simply training more GSCs does not automatically ensure the success of your group sales program.
- Remember that no matter the number of GSCs, if you are not happy with your Zendesk response time or you are missing group codes on the bookings or you don’t have someone following up in Zendesk Sell, you may want to consider assigning specific tasks to GSCs to make sure you have that accountability. Make sure you have the right people in the right places!
